Decorating for the Artistic Soul

September is here

Posted by: Lisa Mason on: September 1, 2008

Now it’s time to start looking into new decor ideas for your home. Fall is on its way and it’s time to get rid of that summer decor and bring on a new style and theme. When it comes to decorating your home for fall, there are many great ideas to choose from. Since this may a large undertaking if you plan to redecorate the entire home so we suggest starting with one room at a time.

You may want to put away your bright summer colors and flowery designs and go for cooler tones. Instead of bright flowers, you can decorate with silken green plants (or live green plants). Making changes to even the smallest details can have a big impact on your home. For example, changing out your window coverings or using new floor rugs can create a new feel in a room without hanging anything else.

Are you planning to change the outside of your home? If you have trees, flowers or a garden outside your home, it may be time to clean out any weeds and prepare the soil for the weather change. This will also depend on the climate where you live.

What are some other ideas you have for decorating your home now that September is here? Stay tuned to our blog for some great fall home decorating ideas in the coming days and weeks!

This is definately true. It’s time to dust off the boxes in you attic and get ready for fall decor. Before long you’ll need to get out the heavy blankets, and long jackets. I’m ready.

Yep it’s almost time to get out the flannel sheets and comforters too. Get the bedroom cozy and comfy with fall colors. I like tans/green and blue shades personally. Doesn’t have to be huge deal…just change abit here and there to create a different mood.
