With Thanksgiving coming up, many people are searching for table centerpiece ideas. The great news is that there are many simple hand made centerpieces that don’t have to cost you a fortune and can even be made from things you might already have around your home. They are fun to make and add a special, personal touch to your decor.
The best part is that hand made centerpieces are not just for Thanksgiving but can also be used at Christmas and other holidays. You can use the tips here to give you ideas for making your own centerpieces all year round.
Here is one idea:
Candlesticks and candles- these have long been known to make great centerpieces but there are ways to add a special hand made touch and make it even more unique. You can arrange the candlesticks on the table and decorate in between with fall leaves (fake leaves and plants), pinecones, gourds and other fall related decor.
Here’s another:
Use a faux or hallowed pumpkin as a base for a potted plant. Add a real plant or faux plant. Ivy is great and anything else fall-themed. For added touches, you can use small, mini pumpkins and gourds and intertwine vines around them on the center of the table.
One more idea:
Using votives and moss, you can create a “cedar forest” on your table’s center. This is one hand made centerpiece that will last for Christmas as well. Twigs, small pumpkins or gourds and small pine cones can add to the theme. Place the moss in the votives to look like small trees. Use the other accessories to fill in around them.
If you can get your hands on a very large pine cone, you can place this on a platter and use it as a hand made centerpiece as well. Decorate it with red ribbons or red and green and other Christmas colors. Place tall candles in candle stick holders beside it for an added touch.
