Halloween Clock

Halloween Clock

Halloween is here!

Whatever you do, however you celebrate, we hope you have a fun, safe and happy October 31st!

With Halloween coming up (tomorrow), it’s important to remember to have a safe Halloween night and to do your part to keep the children safe, whether you have your own or are just looking out for those in the neighborhood.

If you will be going out trick or treating, do so before dark, remain in a group and have a plan in case you get separated. Make sure your child has a safe costume that is flame retardant, offers visible eye holes and doesn’t restrict their breathing.

If you use jack-o-lanterns on your porch, consider lights instead of candles. If you do use candles, keep a check on them regularly and make sure they are set far enough back from the door that children’s costumes won’t catch fire and no one will get burned.

If you have a party at your house for Halloween, make sure you move dangerous or breakable furniture, have proper space for the people you plan to have over and be cautious of lit candles and other flammable items.

Also remember candy safety and check all candy that your children get, don’t eat any opened candy and avoid giving candy to your pets or letting pets or small children choke on the wrappers.

These are just a few tips to help you have a safe Halloween night. We hope that whatever you decide to do, you have a fun one!

Love Life Quote Shadow Box

Love Life Quote Shadow Box

Many of us are trying to think of new and unique gift ideas for this holiday season. One great idea is shadow box art. We have several of these over on our website and each with its own unique theme.

They are handcrafted so you are guaranteed not to see one just like this anywhere else and the different themes allow you to choose one for your own personality or that of the person you are giving it too. These shadow boxes make great wall decor and original gifts for any occasion, especially with Christmas and the New Year approaching.

Each shadow box theme has a different “quote” that is written out using different elements that created the shadow box art. For example, dictionary definitions, silk & organdy ribbon, rubber stamps, glass stones, word clippings, brass findings, game pieces, buttons & more are used to write out the quote.

When you’re looking for unique gift ideas, we have you covered and the shadow box art is one of our favorite choices. We think you, and your receivers will love it as well.

More fun stuff just for Halloween:

I found this photo series “Cute Pictures of Pets wearing Halloween Costumes.” Thought I’d come here and share it since some of them are pretty funny/cute. Don’t forget to come back and tell us what you think of them.

Parker the Pug is my favorite. He looks like a stuffed animal! haha

Something fun for upcoming Halloween- especially if you are a movie buff.

What do you have planned for Halloween? Attend a fall festival, take the kids trick or treating, stay home and hand out candy to trick or treaters, lock up the doors and windows and pretend you’re not home?

For people who choose not to go out on this holiday, you could stay home and enjoy some fun arts and crafts activities, or make it a movie fest with some of the above mentioned titles.

Whatever you choose to do this October 31st, we hope you have a fun and safe one.

Special thanks to for updated listings.

When you attend handmade gift shows, you are getting a multitude of benefits. For example, you get to see great handmade items and gifts from artisans in your area or who have traveled to your area. It is also beneficial as a way to support the art and crafts community in our country. Handmade gifts are more eco-friendly than store bought gifts so you are doing something great for the environment, too. Most off all, you can find wonderful gifts for people on your list unlike anything they have likely seen before, already own or will see in a store.

Handmade gift shows allow you to get something extra special and unique for someone special on your list. You can feel good about buying these types of gifts and handmade gift shows make it easier for you. When you attend the gift shows, often held seasonally, you can save up for holidays, birthdays and other events that may occur throughout the year that you want to give gifts for. Then you will always have something special on hand when a gift giving occasion arrives.

But handmade gift shows are also great even if you’re not doing a lot of buying yourself. You can attend them just to browse and look around or even to help you build your own creative ideas. Many artists and crafters will visit these handmade gift shows to get inspiration and ideas or to meet other people with similar interests.
